Pihitia is a station we started culling many moons ago. Since we have become good friends with the owners. We did not make it last year as the whare was occupied. There was is a short vacancy so we headed over for the weekend. Jack and I took it cruisy and went to bed early Friday night instead of hunting. There has been a lot of rain damage so we thought it best to have a drive around in daylight. So that's what we did early Saturday morning. We spent most of the day looking around and shooting some gobblers and hares. We processed in the field and had a little siesta before going back out that night.
We targeted peafowl in Pouawa. After harvesting about 20, we decided to check out the deer paddock. We decided to just look and not shoot many. There were lots there to target next time. Jack, aged 13, is a lucky boy and is learning all of the aspects of hunting.
We processed in the field Sunday morning and headed home that afternoon.
