Last year we in October we got a call from Leisa about a major peacock problem. John next door had been feeding them for years and agreed they were out of control. Caleb and I drove up the drive and could not believe how many peacocks we saw and that they were not spooking. We had three hunts taking around 90 peafowl away. They were all taken from literally within 200 m of John's house.
There were also a lot of turkeys but they lose condition by September so we only target them until the end of August. We recently had a couple of turkey culls on Earl Road. Turns out the two properties share a border and that we came recommended by John. So I got back in touch with the new manager and arranged a cull. John wanted us to not take any more peafowl and leave the turkeys along his driveway.
So we did and took out about three dozen turkeys. There are easily that many left so we will likely have another go next winter.
