Autumn and winter sees fish congregating around river and stream mouths waiting to run up river and spawn. You also see large numbers of trout returning to the places they were stocked along lake edges. All of these rainbow trout actively feed on fish eggs. Heave and leave globug flies come into their own in these places. Just use a sinking line and a short leader. The foam eyes will float the fly above the bottom until a hungry trout swims by and eats it. It really is that simple. Booby flies work exactly the same way. I personally like to leave then very slowly retrieve. This pack contains the following 12 flies:
The first six are heave and leave globugs:
Orange, Red and White size 6,
Orange, Pink and Red size 6,
Orange, Red and Yellow size 6,
Champagne with a Red Dot size 6,
Pink with a Red Dot size 6,
Orange with a Red Dot size 6
The next two are pink and orange egg sack globugs size 12. While these are not floaters, I reckon they work well in tandem with the floaters.
Then we have four booby flies:
Two Orange Krystal Booby size 6,
Krystal Olive Booby size 6, and
White Booby size 8.
I am a big fan of the Krystal Orange Booby; I reckon you need two.
Oh, and, these will actually work year round.
