Join Dan and I on our second day of fly fishing for the season. Dan catches his best trout and we both use several different trout flies to catch both brown and rainbow trout (Salmo trutta and Oncorhynchus mykiss). We fly fish from a Canadian canoe in the Bay of Plenty, NZ.

A walk that turned into a mini fly fishing adventure

I had been crook for a few days since the last fishing session with Dan. So I got up on day four to go for a walk along the Whakatane River across from my home. The first thing I saw was kahawai smashing bait fish and seagulls joining in. I went home, got my rod, caught some kahawai, went for my walk, then had them for lunch. The rest is in the video.
